BDN Highlights Certification’s Role in Mobilizing Private Finance at FfD4

The Blue Dot Network Secretariat participated in three official side events at the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), showcasing how trusted certification can mobilize private investment in sustainable, people-centred infrastructure.

Key Engagements:

🔹 Private Sector Investment in People-Centred Infrastructure

Hosted by The USCIB Foundation, Edwin Lau (BDN Secretariat) joined USCIB President Whitney Baird to discuss how BDN certification builds investor confidence, streamlines due diligence, and supports the Seville Compromise. A follow-up roundtable with Bayer, Microsoft, Business at OECD, and UNCDF emphasized the need for enabling frameworks and trusted partnerships.

🔹 Enabling Environments for Resilient Infrastructure Development

Co-hosted by B20, BIAC, and ICC, this session explored how BDN certification helps governments de-risk projects and attract long-term private capital through transparency and alignment with international standards.

🔹 Financing STI4SDGs Roadmaps

At this UN-led event, BDN presented how certification can support investment in scientific and digital infrastructure, helping to connect innovation ecosystems with sustainable development goals.

BDN’s proposal to scale certification was selected for the Seville Platform for Action, recognizing its potential to attract private finance to high-quality, SDG-aligned infrastructure projects.

BDN thanks its partners and hosts for advancing the global conversation on financing sustainable infrastructure.
